Hippocampal neuronal activity is thought to inform current behaviour by memory. In this talk I will support this view by showing that editing a hippocampal representation allows rebalancing a place memory. I will provide evidence for a role of off-line replay in memory consolidation. Finally, I will show ongoing work identifying a neuronal gateway that turns a neuronal representation into a behaviour. These data further highlight how hippocampal dynamics contribute to memory-guided behaviour.
